Description
Washington Irving writes a piece of literature following his return from England. He wrote his famous Sketch Book with one the pieces being the story of Rip Van Winkle. He writes about the challenges one experiences with their absence. He is referring the evolving of America and its newly formed society, but in the form of an old man. This short story gives the reader an first hand account of the changes one would experience if their were to leave for a brief time and return to a new world.
